Till I was in my twenties, I had never been called and asked out on a date. I am talking about the out of the blue, bold dial-you-up, and stutter through the big question kind of call. The kind of ask where the boy has to muster the courage to sit in silence after he asks you out. Followed by some uneasiness as your response was awaited.
Instead, I experienced the junior high version. A friend of a friend sent a note to me to see if I might be interested. Let’s just call that what it was… lame. No guy had to put himself out there. No one had to put himself on the line.
The Call was vital to me. It meant that I was worth facing real time rejection. It meant that I was important enough for someone to go out on a limb and ask a vulnerable question. It meant that I was worth the risk.
Have you ever wondered if you are important enough to be called by God?
Valued enough to be seen by the Alpha and Omega, which means the beginning and the end?
Worth being chosen by the Almighty God, Maker of the heavens and earth?
Wonder no more.
“Do not be afraid, for I have ransomed you. I have called you by name; you are mine.” Isaiah 43:2 NLT
God calls you. He ransomed you.
He made an exchange for us, so we could be engaged in a relationship with Him.
He offers to rescue us from the pit of our sin to stand us on the platform of His righteousness.
He is capable to release us from all our fears, so we are free to follow Him fully.
He invites us to return to Him so we can be restored, our life’s story redeemed.
God beckons.
He calls you.
He calls you by name.
How will you respond to His call? When He asks you to be His, what will you say?
In Scripture we are called many things. Beloved. Chosen. Redeemed. Destined. Daughter. Beautiful. Delight. Wonderful.
But of the most important thing He calls you is, MINE.
You. Are. Mine.
Read the verse again. Slowly. Reflect on what God calls you and offers you. Ask God to speak to you through it.
Let the reality that You are His, strengthen your resolve today to live as a called, chosen, and rescued daughter of the King of Kings.
